Reading Junior High School is a Lamar Consolidated Independent School District campus serving seventh- and eighth-grade students in Richmond, Texas. Home of the Longhorns, Reading offers core academic courses, advanced coursework, fine arts, career-focused electives, student organizations and competitive athletics. The campus opened in 2010 and is named for Antoinette Davis Reading, a longtime Lamar CISD educator and community leader. Reading began teaching in 1939 and later served as a principal, counselor and visiting teacher.
